work work work!

alrighty everyone! today is my official first day of work because Tameka (the girl i replaced) left back to America to marry someone and now i have moved into an office. Its pretty glamorous i must say and i never expected to get anything like this. I have a desk, a window, a DOOR, and other fancy things like plastic plants and a stapler. Anyway i have been spending the day reading through archives of e-mails sent back and forth between tameka and the volunteer teams coming to build. I have also been reading like every single file on this computer left to me. Sherif the man i am going to be closely working is in the field getting some logistics that we will discuss upon his arrival back. I am praying i can do a good enough job here and not let everyone down. so everyone else pray that i am given the knowledge and wisdom of how to do this job well.
i guess i'll talk a little bit about my weekend. I got a haircut which was really nice because i was looking terrible and out of whack. So after doing that i spent a lot of time iwth my cousins at their home and went to a sports club. It was really big and had all sorts of activities to do. We did ping pong, squash, basketball, soccer, i watched a handball game and it was the most ridiculous sport i had ever seen. These huge guys just charge at a goalie and hurtl this rubber ball at them with all their might while flying through the air so they can get as close as possible. For those who are not aware there is a circle on the court going all the way around the goal and players are not allowed to enter this circle so the strategy is just run as hard as you can and jump and while flying in hte air you chuck this ball into the goal. Now it sounds really simple and in fact it is but i have never seen such an amazing goalie before. This ball is like half the size of a soccerball but this guy was like a cat with heightened reflexed ebcause he was flying everywhere taking this rubber ball in the face sometimes, and i'm not even kidding he caught it with his feet once intentionally! i loved it. i had a great time and thats about everything i have to say for now. I start my first arabic lesson with my tutor and hopefully it will go well and i can pick it up fast. I'll tell you all about it when i know about it myself. Be good and be safe. I've been here almost a month and truth be told i'm starting to miss you guys :'( and also the room i have now is only temporary and i need to find a new place by the end of the month. Hopefully that goes smoothly but knowing my life i better prepare myself mentally from now for a lot of trouble and exciting adventures. Ok thats its for now

also i will include a photograph of everyone from the office. umm i'll try to tell you everyone...

Hey man, stopped seeing you online after four nights in a roll!? who do you think you are!? well, it's partly on me too, i'm not glued to my comp but when i am, net access may not happen.

trivia: heliopolis literally translates to city state of the sun. helio=sun
polis=city-state.
so heliopolis must be bright and sunny.

love how you see uncertainty and things not goign well as adventures whereas i'd be more pessimistic abt it. so we are all trying to get our lives together. i need so many reminders that its not just me that hasn't gotten his life together yet...

email me sometime. lewis.hugh@gmail.com i sent you an email, not sure if you got it.

hopefully you dedicate a post to me someday.

I stuffed a pita with hummus, tomato, and pepper jack cheese. Delicious.
